"The mission of JROTC is to motivate young

people to be better citizens."

Denver Brigade Motto: "To Learn to Lead"

The Army JROTC program has a long and proud tradition of service to the nation through the betterment of its youth. The focus of Army JROTC is reflected in its mission To motivate young people to be better citizens. JROTC accomplishes the mission by providing exceptional educational opportunities and lifelong skills to America's youth. The curriculum helps cadets develop life-long leadership and decision making skills. These skills are exhibited on a daily basis; and set a model for the student body to emulate. The curriculum supports the school's mission and mandates by integrating technology, linking content to state standards, integrating reading and writing, and providing character and financial education.

Cadets participate in classroom work, leadership labs in which "drill-and-ceremony" is mastered, in physical fitness testing, rifle marksmanship, and numerous competition teams. There are frequent volunteer and community service opportunities that develop teamwork and leadership. Selected cadets attend a summer camp. Cadets earn promotions and awards for everything they do.

There is no military obligation for enrolling in the JROTC Elective. Semesters spent in JROTC enable enlistment at higher rank in all branches of the armed forces. JROTC can be a pathway to college ROTC scholarships and service academy appointments.

The Army Junior ROTC

Cadet Creed

I am an Army Junior ROTC Cadet. I will always conduct myself to bring credit to my family, country, school and the Corps of Cadets.

I am loyal and patriotic. I am the future of the United States of America.

I do not lie, cheat or steal and will always be accountable for my actions and deeds.

I will always practice good citizenship and patriotism.

I will work hard to improve my mind and strengthen my body.

I will seek the mantle of leadership and stand prepared to uphold the Constitution and the American way of life.

May God grat me the strength to always live by this creed.

"The Cadet Creed is learned by every Cadet in the 6th Battalion, from the highest Cadet Colonel to the lowest Cadet Private. It is an institution to creating a link in the Chain of Command for the Cadets, and a real creed they can live with for the rest of their lives."
